Who I am
I photograph people as they are—not as they think they need to appear.
I’m Richard, a photographer based on the South Coast of Massachusetts. My work begins with attention: slowing down, noticing what is usually overlooked, and allowing a genuine image to emerge.
This is photography as encounter. The goal is not simply to record how a moment looked, but to preserve something of what it felt like to be there.

Artistic philosophy
“A photograph does not stop time. It reveals the depth that was already inside it.”
We are often absent from our own lives—caught in plans, roles, and the expectations of others. Photography can interrupt that drift.
My camera is a way of paying attention. Each session is an invitation to become present: to yourself, to another person, or to the world you inhabit.
